spectral & Time history analysis
Hi Dear friends,
I Have problem in understanding the difference between spectral curve and time-history curve.
Can anyone help me and explain briefly for me what is spectral cure and
what is time-history curve and what is difference between them ?
it is important for me
Thank you

Re: spectral & Time history analysis
Time-history analysis is a step-by-step analysis of the dynamical response of a structure to a specified loading that may vary with time. The analysis may be linear or nonlinear.
The linear time-history analysis is treated by the basic mode superposition method, which is restricted to linearly elastic models. Time-history analysis produces the complete time history response of the structure (joint displacements and member forces).
Response spectrum analysis involves the calculation of only the maximum values of the displacements and member forces in each mode. The analysis is applied for linear systems.
Response spectrum curve is a plot of the maximum response, as a function of oscillator frequency, of an array of single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) damped oscillators subjected to the same base excitation
